JASON Workshops Provided by BTNEP

JASON Curriculum and Online Workshop.

BTNEP is happy to provide ten teachers from each of the fifteen parishes within the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary System with JASON curricula and online licenses.  Participating teachers are asked to attend one six-hour professional development workshop to obtain training in using the materials and accessing the online components of the JASON Expedition.

Training workshops are being scheduled at locations spread throughout the Barataria-Terrebonne estuary.  Teachers may choose to attend any one of these workshops.  Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is mandatory.  Workshops are being held free of charge, and lunch is provided!

Workshop dates and locations are still being confirmed, but those that have been confirmed are as follows:

• September 18 - Point Coupee Parish
• October 9         - Jefferson Parish
• December 2    - E. D. White Catholic High School
• December 11  - St. John Parish
• January (TBA) - Jefferson Parish
